"protocol": "The synthesis of hydrophilic polymers involves the use of N-Hydroxyethylacrylamide as a monomer. The reaction typically requires the addition of a suitable initiator and may include functional groups through copolymerization with other acrylates or methacrylates. The mixture is then subjected to a controlled temperature to initiate polymerization, followed by purification processes such as dialysis or precipitation to obtain the final polymer product.Synthesis of POSS-P(QAC-co-AEMA): QAC (588.0 mg, 2 mmol), AEMA (82.8 mg, 0.5 mmol), POSS-CPADB (11.4 mg, 0.01 mmol) and AIBN (0.4 mg, 0.0025 mmol) dissolved in EtOH (1 mL) were added into a 10 mL Schlenk flask. The flask was deoxygenated by three consecutive freeze-pump-thaw cycles before the polymerization was conducted at 70°C for 10 h, and then quenched by rapid cooling immersion of the flask into iced water. The synthesized copolymer of POSS-P(QAC-co-AEMA) was precipitated into n-hexane for five times and subsequently dialyzed for 3 days to lyophilize."
